The first day of school, Monday 19 th August, we celebrated Marvin’s third birthday!
We sang the months of the year and after the song Marvin walked 3 rounds,
equating to his birthday, with the coloured globe around the table with a burning
candle. The candle represented the sun.
Tuesday the 27 th August we celebrated Sohann’s birthday. Do you remember his
age? He walked twice as many rounds with the coloured globe around the table with
a burning candle. Yes! Six years old!
The children have enjoyed a gentle start with toys and games, group presentations
to get familiar with the daily routines at our school. During the morning snacks were
enjoyed outdoors.
Slowly but surely, we gently evolve into the Montessori routine, meaning that the
children can take the school snack in class and will work until 11:35. Thereafter, we
prepare and enjoy our lunch all together, 62 children in total. Playtime takes place
after lunch time.
All the mums and dads of our class were invited to our school on Tuesday evening
27 th August to provide information regarding the activities for this school year. The
children were very happy to prepare finger foods for this special event.
Sylvie, Léa, Caroline, Ieva and Tera were delighted to welcome the mums and dads
and make mutual acquaintance. It was lovely to hear the variety of languages
spoken at home and the cultural diversity. These languages include French,
Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Farsi, Turkish, Greek, English, Latvian and
Dutch………, and potentially even more!
