Actualités du mois de novembre 2025, classe Little Seed

We started the month of November with a new student. Her name is Billie and she joins our class every Monday and Tuesday. It is not easy to start a new class later on in the year, where children have had time to learn the routines at a moderate pace. Billie integrated smoothly and after 1 month at our school she has settled in, chose her activities, took the mattress for a power nap if needed and joined group activities.

Every Monday morning 2 children prepare the bread for the Tuesday morning snack. The dough is made with wholemeal flour, yeast, salt and water. It is stored in the fridge during the day and baked after school time. The bread, made by their friends, is appreciated by the children in our class on Tuesday.

Due to very mild temperatures in the beginning of the month we decided to enjoy the sunny

weather at another playground than ours on Friday afternoon 7th November. A half an hour walk from our school is a playground at Place Beaumont-lès-Valence in Vétroz. We were the only visitors so a lot of choice in activities. There were swings, blue exercise machines, climbing activities and a slide. The children played for 30 minutes and then it was time to walk back to school. Everyone had a smile on their face.

Tuesday 18th November Naïa celebrated her birthday with us at school. The children sang the song with the months of the year and she made 6 rounds with the coloured globe around the table with the candle, that candle representing the sun! Birthday songs were sang and the birthday cake brought in. Naïa distributed a piece of her cake to all the children and adults, thereafter everyone enjoyed the birthday cake.

The beginning of the month was like an Indian Summer, whereas the end was wintery with lots of snow at the playground. The children created igloos, snowmen and slides.

The children have the opportunity to choose from three different kind of insets. The pink and blue shapes in the language and writing area, the yellow and green leaf shapes at the culture and science area, and the white and red shapes at the sensorial area. Tracing the inside or outlining the outside of the inset is an appreciated activity and it helps to develop the finer motor skills.

As you can imagine we have started to practice our songs for the annual Christmas celebration at our school which will take place Tuesday 16th of December. Slowly, but surely Christmas items created by the children progressively decorate our classroom.

Warmest regards,

The little seed Team
