Actualités du mois d'avril 2025, classe Little Seed

April’s Fool was a fun day, the 1st of April, some took a paper fish from home and others coloured one at school. It was fun to trick someone or to become tricked.

Ella (Monnier) celebrated her 6th birthday and Timothée his 4th! We sang “The months of the year” song. Ella and Thimothée both proudly walked with the coloured globe around the little table with the candle. Each round represented a year. The children enjoyed the photos Ella and Timothée brought to school showing them as a baby and one of each year thereafter. We sang the birthday song in their favourite language, French and English respectively, whilst the cake with candles got carried into the classroom. The two birthday children proudly served their special treat to everyone.

The art bags went home twice this month, the first time with the booklets containing paintings, drawings, colourings, graphics, perforations, handwriting or other. The second time the bag was filled with art that was exhibited at school on the last Tuesday before the Easter holiday. The room looked very colourful with the Winter and Spring themes. Hibernating animals, skiers on the pistes in the forest with cablecars passing by, snowmen surrounded by snowflakes, grape hyacinths popping out of the snow, buds growing on the trees, butterflies flying around, boats sailing on the lake, little chicks on the grass, and the Easter craft attached to the beams decorated with eggs and bunnies and last but not least the Easter Bunny card!

This month was characterised by highly variable weather conditions. It has been warm and chilly like Spring, our season right now, hot like Summer, rainy like in Autumn and an enormous amount of snow like in Winter! The exorbitant amount of snowfall on the last day before the Easter holiday did not allow everyone could make it to school. It was a different day with a small group of children in the class, we worked a bit, listened to a story, had an egg hunt and we all enjoyed lunch in our class room! Playtime was outdoors and a lot of snowmen were created. It was a Winter wonderland surrounding us.

The children got informed about the move of our 12 zebra finches to the Asian restaurant in Vétroz before the holidays, they all said goodbye to them. As a reminder of their stay in our class all the children received a photo of the birds.
